More Minimalist Drawings Of Animals Made With Bold Strokes Of A Calligraphy Pen
By Louise Jane Cher, 24 Dec 2015
London-based illustrator Andrew Fox was previously featured for his calligraphy animals, and he returns with more drawings and a new book.
For those unacquainted with Fox’s works, he is skilled at creating bold, black-and-white drawings of animals, insects and people, with minimal strokes from a calligraphy pen.
According to the artist, the unique series began as an “exercise in minimalism and restraint”, as using a calligraphy tool for drawing imposed restrictions that helped to fuel creativity.
With simple shapes and lines, his cute and whimsical characters can be complete in mere seconds.
Fox has also compiled his drawings into a book, Learn To Draw Calligraphy Animals, which is available for purchase on Amazon. It includes techniques for you to recreate 30 different animals, as effortlessly as he does.
Check out his calligraphy animals below, and head here for more of his works.
