Tattoo Artist Discusses Common Designs, Whether Minimalism Will Go Out Of Style
By Dorothy Tan, 05 Jan 2017
With tattoos becoming mainstream, body ink trends seem surprisingly fluid considering that these designs are meant to last for a lifetime.
Website The Tab recently spoke to tattoo artist Taz about what he thinks of these trends—more specifically, they wanted to know if the incredibly popular minimalist tattoos would ever go out of style.
“Geometric shapes will forever be in style because there is pretty much no escaping it.”
According to him, minimalist tattoos consisting of simple shapes and lines would never go out of fashion because despite their small size, they represent big ideas.
However, he states that the demand for these tattoos varies from place to place, with people of different areas opting for different styles—this means that while minimalism appears to be a big trend online, it may not be sought after everywhere.
“The majority of people want small things like infinity signs, heart beats, small feathers.”
Taz also talks about the common designs that many people seem to want—it is ironic that for a very personal piece of body art, so many people end up inking the same thing.
