Photographer Captures Death Row Inmates’ Last Meals

Photographer Henry Hargreaves has captured the haunting images of death row inmates’ last meal requests.
He believes that food references speak volumes about a person’s character and personality. Take a look at the poignant “No Seconds” series below.

Victor Feguer was hanged at the age of 28 for kidnapping and murder. For his last meal, he requested a single olive with the pit on it.
John Wayne Gacy was put to death by lethal injection at the ago of 52 for rape and 33 counts of murder. He requested 12 fried shrimps, a bucket of original recipe KFC, french fries and a pound of strawberries.
Timothy McVeigh, the American terrorist behind the Oklahoma City bombing was put to death by lethal injection at 33. He wanted two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream for his last meal.
Ricky Ray Rector was sentenced to death for two counts of murder. He requested a steak, fried chicken, cherry Kool-aid and pecan pie. He left the pecan pie behind, telling the guard he was “saving it for later.”
Ronnie Lee Gardner was sentenced to death for burglary, robbery and two counts of murder. For his last meal, he requested steak, lobster tail, apple pie, vanilla ice cream and to eat it all while watching “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
Ronnie Threadgill, requested baked chicken, mashed potatoes with country gravy, vegetables, sweet peas, bread, tea, water, and punch for his last meal.
Ferdinando Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were put to death in Massachusetts by electric chair. For their last meals, Sacco and Vanzetti requested soup, tea, meat, and toast.
