Breathtaking Digital Artwork Immerses Viewers In ‘Glowing Van Gogh-Like Swirls’
By Izza Sofia, 21 Apr 2017
Tokyo-based digital art collective teamLab has created awe-inspiring digital installations that walk a tightrope between art, technology and design.
Vice reports that their aim is to mash up art and technology by creating installations out of light, projections and interactive technology.
They have created numerous artworks that include a waterfall flowing down the wall onto the floor before parting around your feet. In another piece, they mapped the way hundreds of thousands of water particles interact.
An installation titled ‘Crows are Chased and the Chasing Crows are Destined to be Chased as well, Transcending Space’ allows people to immerse themselves in the artwork, changing the art space as well as the way people interact and experience art.
It feels like stepping into “glowing Van Gogh-like swirls”, where there are no boundaries between you and the art as the art spills on to the floor or fills the air while music plays in the background.
Take a look at the teaser below of teamLab’s work ‘Future World: Where Art Meets Science’ exhibition at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, or head over to Vice to read more.
