In March, SketchBook launched an update for Windows 10 to capitalize on Microsoft’s Surface Studio—a giant computer designed especially for professional artists and designers—and Surface Dial—a circular device that acts as a second mouse off-screen.

Last month, Corel introduced ‘LiveSketch’, a handy tool in the Windows-only CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2017—also dubbed one of this year’s top new graphic design tools thus far.
‘LiveSketch’ is capable of interpreting the designer’s drawing style, including overlapping strokes and folded lines, so that the need for pen and paper is eliminated. The clever technology helps shave hours off the traditional vector design workflow.

In line with Illustrator’s 30th anniversary, Adobe Creative Cloud added a slew of new features to the app in April, including ‘image crop’ and an Adobe ‘color themes panel’.
Instead of switching to Photoshop to alter an image, users can now make the amendments hassle-free within Illustrator. The new ‘color themes panel’ supports users in creating, saving, and retrieving color themes across different Adobe apps.
