Last week, the Truman Cafe in Melbourne, Australia, shared a video of a latte being made in an avocado—it quickly went viral, with many using it as evidence of hipster culture’s absurdity.
However, News.com.au has reported that the “avolatte” is just a joke, as confirmed by barista Jaydin Nathan of the Truman Cafe—this would probably be disappointing news to the hipster-bashers.
According to Nathan, the most ironic thing about the whole viral incident is that the cafe had to actually start selling the avolatte because customers have been asking for them.
What do you think—would you drink a latte out of “a discarded scrap of fruit”?
Scroll down to read some of the funny online responses to the avolatte.
