Toio: Sony’s Fun Mini Cube Robot Is A Much Better Toy Than A Fidget Spinner
By Kylie Woon, 15 Jun 2017
There is an exciting new toy from Sony that will delight children and help them unleash their creativity. The Toio Cube is a miniature, remote-controlled cube currently on Sony’s own crowdfunding platform, First Flight.
The little cube is approximately 1.25 inches on the sides and 0.75 inches high. On the bottom side are a set of wheels, and on the top side are LEGO-like raised bumps. And like Lego, the cube can be enjoyed at varying levels of complexity.
Although the Toio is a robotic toy that takes commands via Bluetooth, playing with it also helps users to build skills in traditional paper-cutting and crafting. The resulting designs can range from simplistic to sophisticated.
The toy also comes with a specially patterned mat for the Toio’s visual sensors to travel across. It provides engaging entertainment for both kids and adults.
A basic set is priced at US$265—learn more about the Toio Cube here.
