Looks like fried chicken restaurants aren’t the only ones serving breasts. A restaurant in Hangzhou City, China, is making netizens gawk with its bizarre attempts to give its patronage a push-up.
A user on Chinese microblogging site posted an image of an advertisement situated in front of an eating establishment called ‘Trendy Shrimp’, which claimed to offer promotions that vary according to a lady visitor’s breast size. The ampler your girls were, the ampler the discount.
Here’s a breakdown of the promotion’s price reduction system:
A-cups: 5% off
B-cups: 15% off
C-cups: 25% off
D-cups: 35% off
E-cups: 45% off
F-cups: 55% off
G-cups: 65% off
Netizens have called the campaign “digusting” and “vulgar”, remarking that it was offensive to females.
A Weibo user goes on to ask, “How did they judge the breast size anyway? With their hands?” If you’re wondering the same, here’s your answer: “judgments” were made by female staff, who estimated their customers’ likely discount rates only with their eyes. If a customer disagreed, they could just tell the staff their real cup size, as long as it was believable.
The promotion proved to be successful, and the restaurant revealed that female customers had managed to squeeze an average discount of 20%.
Unsurprisingly, the campaign was shut down by authorities after three days, following complaints that it was demeaning to women and that it had violated Chinese advertising laws.
