As planned, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has unveiled its bezel-less flagship model, Mi Mix 2, one day before the iPhone 8 launch.
Mi Mix 2 offers a 5.99-inch, 18:9 screen, 6GB RAM with 64GB/128GB/256GB storage options, and comes powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor. One major drawback, however, is that it only houses a single, 12-megapixel-rear camera with 4-axis optical image stabilization.
For those who want something a little more unique, there’s the Mi Mix 2 Special Edition that comes with a ceramic body, 8GB RAM, 128GB of storage space, but is set to cost more than the standard model.
The flagship gadget will be released for sale across China on 15 September at a starting price of approximately US$500 for its 64GB version. The 128GB and 256GB models will cost roughly RMB3,599 (US$551) and RMB3,999 (US$612) respectively, while the Special Edition could set you back by around RMB4,699 (US$721). Xiaomi will likely release the model for sale in other global markets following its introduction in China.
