In support of ARKit, the new cameras will be AR-calibrated and makes moves to change the way the world is viewed.
Digital information will be easily overlaid on the real world—for instance, player stats could pop up over athletes during a live sports match, or information about constellations may appear as you stargaze, allowing you to discover more while in the moment.
Gaming will also be more realistic and immersive—Shanghai-based startup Directive Games and Apple are bringing exclusive ARKit games solely to the iOS.
More wireless than ever
The new iPhones will keep you more connected than ever—but not to charging cables, because the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus glass backs are made for wireless charging so you “never have to plug in a cable again.”
