Chrissy Teigen Calls Out Creepy iPhone Feature That Categorizes Your Bra Photos
By Izza Sofia, 01 Nov 2017
Twitter users have noticed something creepy about the iPhone.
The Photos app on iPhones categorizes bra pictures under the search term “brassiere.” User ‘ellieeewbu,’ who first found out about it, tweeted “Attention all girls all girls!!! Go to your photos and type in ‘Braissiere’ why are apple saving these and made it a folder!!?!!?”
Model Chrissy Teigen also did the test, sharing a screenshot of her “brassiere” search and the dozens of photos of Teigen in her bra that appeared.
“It’s true. If u type in “brassiere” in the search of your iphotos, it has a category for every boob or cleavage pic you’ve ever taken. Why,” the model and cookbook author tweeted out. She also included a photo of all the “brassiere” shots that her iPhone categorized.
The iPhone’s artificial intelligence categorizes all sorts of things, from “brassiere” to “swimsuit” to “dogs.” As it says on Apple’s website, “Photos even recognizes scenes or objects in your photos, so you can search for things like dogs, beaches, mountains, or flowers.”
Others were concerned that Apple was seeing the photos, but Apple says the processor that recognizes photos and objects is done directly on the device and are not sent to Apple.
