You can finally emanate the feel of holding an expensive flagship phone, thanks to Spotify.
In hopes of promoting ‘RapCaviar’, the streaming platform’s popular hip hop playlist, Spotify has unleashed a limited edition ‘MoneyPhone’ case that snugly straps your phone to a chunk of cash, and will likely cushion both owner and device from becoming “broke.”
“It's oversized. Excessive. And the ultimate expression of ‘money talks,’” describes Spotify.
According to Ad Age, the case features an exaggerated wad of faux US$100 bills with a hole fashioned to fit your smartphone.
Spotify’s campaign is right on the money about a running joke in rap culture. The meme, which was allegedly started by 50 Cent, had other musicians putting stacks of cash to their ears, as if the artistes were endorsing the newest iPhone.
To offer its two cents’ worth about the trend, Spotify has decided to turn it into the real deal.
The official ‘MoneyPhones’ will come with adaptors that would properly keep both smaller and larger smartphones secure, and will be distributed to the playlist’s top superfans in the coming weeks.
If only these unfortunate souls had their very own ‘MoneyPhones’ to insure their own devices.
