Want to bring your tech toy’s aesthetics up a notch? With the iPhone X, that shouldn’t be a problem.
It’s understandable why Apple decided to blatantly parade the notch, even though the company committed to designing a phone with a full end-to-end display. The feature is quintessential of the high-end model and makes it instantly identifiable.
Evidently, not everybody is a fan of the phone’s crowning glory. iPhone X users have come up with wallpapers that camouflage the black bar, and Instagram has even schooled Apple by proving how the notch could be better utilized.
One Japanese designer, known as ‘heyeased’ on Twitter, wondered: why hide “flaws” when you can embrace them instead? He has since tailor-made a set of wallpapers that flaunt the notch so that you’ll appreciate its presence even more.
‘heyeased’ designed two types of wallpapers: the first—called ‘The X’—is a classic version that highlights the iPhone X’s stainless steel skeleton in a selection of colors; the second—‘X Monitor’—builds a grid, as well as a gesture guide, around the phone’s UI elements.
