McDonald’s Kicks Off Its ‘Dollar Menu’ That Will Make You Cry Tears Of Joy
By Izza Sofia, 10 Jan 2018
McDonald’s debuts its new discount menu come Thursday with hopes that the chain will make profits as easy as one, two, three.
The ‘$1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu’ carries bargain items at different prices. Each tier comprises a breakfast, chicken, burger and drink.
The basic, single-patty cheeseburger and sausage burrito are going at $1, while two-piece Buttermilk Crispy Tenders and some small McCafé beverages are going at $2. Those who wish to “splurge” can try a Sausage McMuffin with Egg or Classic Chicken Sandwich for $3.
Happy Meals for kids, not previously included on the national discount menu, will cost $3.
“As a result of it being one price point, it was fairly limited in terms of what you could put on it... Having done that for 10 years, it ran out of gas,” McDonald’s US president Chris Kempczinski told ABC Action News back in late November.
“We’ve always known customers love the idea of value at McDonald’s. That’s never changed. What’s evolved is they want more choice.”
