In spite of McDonald’s attempts to introduce fresh beef in its ‘Quarter Pounders’, Wendy’s is still rolling punches at how the rest of the former’s ensemble might be lacking star quality.
The latest move in this ongoing fight is an utter snack for moviegoers: Wendy’s has borrowed the ending of record-smashing blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War to mock McDonald’s highly selective use of fresh beef, which is absent from all its other burgers.
The hilarious jibe on Twitter sees a limp Big Mac disintegrating into thin air. “I don’t feel so good,” the image’s caption reads.
Wendy’s defended that while the joke is a parody of the film’s heartbreaking conclusion, it “didn’t spoil anything.”
Fans had to disagree. “[You’re] spoiling McDonald’s future,” argued one.
