Designer Xander Zhou lets his imagination run wild in his Spring 2019 show.
Zhou brought his audience to the future by sending ‘pregnant’ male models down the runway donning stylish clothing.
The futuristic fashion show was held in Queen Elizabeth Hall at London’s Southbank Centre, and the models, men and women, were given equal rights, blurring gender boundaries.
His alien characters were seen on the runway holding their pregnant bellies wearing pink teddy tracksuits with feminine details. Some of the models were also wearing yellow wigs and “super-terrestrial extraterrestrial prints.”
The pregnant bellies were created by talented make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench, who drew inspiration from sci-fi aliens.
But fret not, the collection is still created with a dose of reality that will appeal to regular humans. Zhou’s collection features acid-washed denim jackets, oversized printed trench coats and boxy-sleeved T-shirts for layering.
