The Norwegian flag has been dubbed the “Swiss Army knife” of flags after internet users deduced that it seemingly conceals six other countries’ symbols.
Geographer Simon Kuestenmacher recently shared an image on Twitter highlighting a handful of other flags perceived to be part of this all-encompassing emblem.
As it turns out, red, white, and blue might be one of the most common color combinations in flag design—Kuestenmacher joked that the Indonesian, Poland, Finnish, Dutch, and Thai, and French flags make a cameo in the Norwegian flag.
That’s not all, apparently. Others pointed out that the graphic has left out the flags of Paraguay, Malta, Monaco, Austria, Switzerland, and Dubai—amounting to a total of 13 countries including Norway.
In the same vein, a Norwegian Airlines ad by M&C Saatchi in 2015 identified five other cities hidden in the Norwegian flag.
Who knew a single flag could bring the world closer together?
