Artist Impresses The Internet With Paintings Of Beyoncé’s Latest Vogue Cover
By Izza Sofia, 10 Aug 2018
The latest issue of Vogue magazine featured Beyoncé on its cover, which was captured by 23-year-old photographer Tyler Mitchell, who has personally chosen by the singer for the project.
While that photo shoot garnered much applause from audiences, one artist inspired by the shoot has received an even bigger ovation from the internet for her latest art pieces.
American illustrator Alice X. Zhang, whose clients include the BBC and Marvel, to name a few, has created three paintings of Beyoncé that have captured the attention of the internet.
She posted the stunning illustrations on Twitter with the caption, “Saw this month’s Vogue and was so inspired I had to paint it… and then… paint some more… okay I got really carried away but QUEEN BEY MY FINEST WORK.”
Her drawings have since garnered more than 112,000 likes on Twitter. Zhang shared that she has always been a big fan of fashion editorials and felt particularly inspired by Beyoncé’s latest photo shoot.
As a professional artist, Zhang is always keeping an eye out for subjects to sketch and adds that Beyoncé's images are good sources of inspiration for practice. She is “humbled and pleased” by the attention she has received, and is glad that she has been able to brighten up other people’s days through her work.
