Steffen Schwarz, a 32-year-old part-time farmer from Germany, had pulled a marriage proposal that was more ambitious than most, but it turned out to be more extravagant than he had expected. Unbeknownst to him, Google’s satellite cameras managed to capture the momentous scene.
Last May, Schwartz set the stage for the love of his life by spelling out the message, “Will you marry me?” in German using a corn-planting machine on his nearly five-acre field in Huettenberg.
To ensure his girlfriend got the message, he asked her to fly a drone over the crops, and she said yes.
It was only later that Schwartz became aware of his proposal attracting more witnesses than he had intended. The farmer’s aunt in Canada alerted him that his grand gestures was visible on Google Maps for all the world to see, according to the BBC.
The sweet message can be found below, or you can hover around the area yourself via Google Maps.
