The Queen Lifts Spirits In Rare Televised Address Rallying Viewers To Press On

Queen Elizabeth II addressed the fight against the coronavirus pandemic via a television broadcast on Sunday, speaking to the nation about the importance of staying united despite being in self-isolation and facing the difficulties that come with it.
“I am speaking to you at what I know is an increasingly challenging time,” the 93-year-old UK monarch told in the video. She revisited the time when she was still a princess and did a broadcast in 1940 to comfort those affected during the early World War II.
Now, she is uplifting the nation to persevere during the virus crisis. She touched on the strict lockdown laws in the UK, but assured that the enforcement is presently the right thing to do.
With this being the fifth time she has addressed the public besides her yearly Christmas telecasts, she reached out to the nation to give them some encouragement to stay strong during the tough time.
“If we remain united and resolute, we will overcome this,” the Queen guaranteed in the video. She also noted that this pandemic is not a sole battle to the UK, as the world is affected by it.
