So you’ve stayed away from social media and done everything else you could to avoid spoilers for something you’ve been meaning to catch on your telly. You’re all set to kick back with a bowl of popcorn you’ve just taken out of the microwave. What could go wrong from here?
Well, it turns out, everything. Samsung’s hilarious new prints, created by advertising agency Leo Burnett Frankfurt, presents an unforeseen factor that could ruin your viewing experience: reflective television screens.
The amusing visuals cast the reflections of lighting from living rooms against pretty intense film scenes, completely changing their moods.
There’s a lampshade skirt for a Jason Voorhees-like character, and a lit candle under the crotch area of a martial artist in mid-air. Two lanterns also glow over the head of a warrior, making the otherwise formidable character look straight out of something from the House of Mouse.
The emphasis is that viewers should switch to a television with anti-glaring features, like the ones in Samsung’s QLED TV range with Ultra Black Elite technology, to “enjoy perfect picture quality in every light situation,” the ad agency explained.
