While all of us were out here gazing at 2D photographs of space objects, SpaceX’s lucky Inspiration4 all-civilian crew caught a full breathtaking view of planet Earth, which would serve as their backdrop for about three days.
On Wednesday, the SpaceX Crew Dragon set off on the company’s first human spaceflight sans professional astronauts, and they now have pictures worth writing home about.
Jared Isaacman, Hayley Arceneaux, Sian Proctor, and Chris Sembroski captured a stunning video and some images of Earth as seen from the spacecraft’s cupola, which they “made full use” of, while in orbit. As the New York Post notes, the capsule’s domed area is designed such that astronauts can enjoy 360° views of Earth via one “window,” rather than have their view split the into several windows.

Also, the spaceship’s restroom happens to be located there, so it can be agreed that it’s the toilet with the best views in the universe.
Beauty is often fleeting, though, and the crew is expected to touch down on September 18.
