We may not be able to step foot into the White House during the festive season and marvel at the grandeur of Christmas decorations, but we do have the next best thing: Google Street View.
After the Bidens revealed their stunning decorations last week, the First Lady shared a tweet inviting users to virtually tour the premises, decked out in all their glory.
Each of the building’s public rooms represent an element of this year’s chosen theme, ‘Gifts from the Heart’. According to First Lady Jill Biden, the intention for this was to highlight things that “unite and heal, and bring us together.”
Are you ready for the holidays?! This year, we’re bringing the White House to you.💕

While the President’s residence has been available to tour online for a while now—Google added the White House to Street View almost a decade ago, per Engadget—this year the images have been updated to spread some festive cheer.
Tours of the premises aren’t currently ongoing in an effort to stop the COVID-19 pandemic, so these virtual experiences will be the go-to until activities can resume as normal.
Alongside the Street View tour, those interested can also access a ‘Holidays at the White House’ tour via the White House Experience mobile and web apps. The Hill also reports that various “interactive viewing experiences” for the holiday decorations will be available this year on platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat as well.
The 360º Google Street View tour of the White House can be accessed here. Happy exploring!
