Amazon Evokes Sentimental Feelings In Christmas Ad Directed By Taika Waititi

Amazon captures the tender feeling of gift-giving during the holiday season with its new commercial spot, Joy is Made.
The 60-second video was helmed by Oscar-winning director Taika Waititi, whose portfolio includes Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok, Thor: Love and Thunder, and The Suicide Squad. Alongside Waititi, the e-commerce giant taps the talents of creative agency Lucky Generals and production company Hungry Man to breathe magic into the commercial.
The spot opens with a young girl gazing lovingly at her snow globe. She brings her new favorite item everywhere she goes—even to school and to the dentist’s.
Sensing her deep attachment to the snow globe, her father thinks up the perfect present for her. He creates a life-sized snow globe in their backyard shed with the help of his neighbors and the ultra-timely delivery services of Amazon that brings him a much-needed paper shredder.
The spot ends with father and daughter standing amid the falling “snow,” which the girl marvels at.
The moral of the advertisement is that it’s the thought that counts this holiday season, but one could still benefit from Amazon’s services to pull off an act of kindness such as this.
