Banksy Mural Makes Itself At Home At Old Farmhouse, Gets Evicted Soon After

The joyful home life of two characters was abruptly severed as a crane knocked it down.
Painted by Banksy, who shared the new mural on Instagram, the bittersweet artwork depicts the silhouette of a young boy pulling open corrugated iron curtains, while his cat takes a gander through the window.
The two had made themselves at home in—or rather on the wall of—a rundown farmhouse in the seaside town of Herne Bay in Kent, England, the BBC reports.

The mysterious street artist has named the fleeting work Morning is Broken because the two were, presumably, gone overnight. A subsequent photo reveals that the building they were on is being torn down.

The land’s owner, Kitewood, says the property was due for demolition work.
