Burberry Launches First Plaid Swimwear Under Creative Direction Of Daniel Lee
By Mikelle Leow, 10 May 2023
It’s time to check out in anticipation of warmer days ahead, literally. While its name is often tied to coats, Burberry has rolled out new swimwear to add a touch of British luxury to your summer vacation.
The launch happens to be the first swimwear campaign helmed by Daniel Lee, who took the reins as the new Chief Creative Officer after previously steering creative direction for Bottega Veneta. Lee has once again teamed up with British photographer Tyrone Lebon, who worked on Lee’s debut Burberry campaign, to shoot for the summer holiday edit.
The sunny collection features beach-ready staples like bikinis, swim shorts, briefs, towels, bucket hats, robes, totes, and even life jackets, with pieces notably accentuated by the sandy Burberry Check.
Under his vision, Lee revived the historical Equestrian Knight Design of a noble knight riding his steed. The emblem, which debuted in 1901, was removed in 2018 when Riccardo Tisci took over. You’ll once again see this majestic motif splashed across this campaign’s visuals.
Sizing options for the beachwear are pretty decent, with the bikinis fitting XXXS to XXL bodies and the shorts going up to XXXL. Sun’s out, check out!
