It’s hard to tell what creative collective MSCHF has up its sleeves. Earlier this year, the group launched a virtual dating game that helped Americans file taxes and an artificial intelligence matchmaking site that determined how attractive users were.

Now, it’s decided to go smaller. Much, much smaller. The MSCHF Microscopic Handbag, true to its moniker, is hardly visible on the tip of a finger, only catching the eye as an indiscernible pinprick of neon.

Take a closer look, and one will discover that the minute creation is actually a faithful remake of the popular Louis Vuitton OnTheGo handbag—all condensed into just 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers, or dimensions similar to a single speck of dust.

To ensure its new owner won’t lose sight of it right away, the monogram luxury replica will be sold pre-mounted under a digital microscope so that the collector will be able to truly take it in the incredible design and detail of the pouch.

It’s still unclear how Louis Vuitton feels about the microscopic rendition of its design, considering MSCHF revealed to the New York Times that it did not receive permission from the company before creating the Microscopic Handbag.

“Smaller than a grain of sea salt and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle, this is a purse so small you’ll need a microscope to see it. There are big handbags, normal handbags, and small handbags, but this is the final word in bag miniaturization,” the collective said.

“As a once-functional object like a handbag becomes smaller and smaller its object status becomes steadily more abstracted until it is purely a brand signifier,” it added in its latest Instagram post.
