Tesla Reveals Cybertruck Will Fit Four Doors, Six-Foot Bed Into Electric Pickup
Earlier this week, following two years of delays, Tesla announced it had completed the production of the first of its Cybertrucks at its Gigafactory in Texas. Now, with the vehicle poised to begin rolling off production lines, more information about its setup has been revealed.
As part of Tesla’s Q2 financial results, the automaker gave a highly-anticipated update on its latest car. It reported that initial manufacturing is set to begin later this year, all while it continues to “make progress” on its next-generation technology platform.
In addition, the company confirmed that the recently-unveiled vehicle was a “release candidate unit”—or what’s known as an internal build to ensure that any critical problems have not gone undetected before the car is sold to the public.
The organization said it was testing the Cybertruck “for final certification and validation.” And as it could be considered to be the “most unique vehicle product” in years, additional trialing and testing of its new technologies are paramount.

In terms of the electric car’s dimensions, Tesla has finally released specifications fans were looking forward to. During the call with investors, executives said the vehicle would measure less than 19 feet long bumper to bumper, though it will include a bed of over six feet.
Thankfully, it seems the larger bed won’t compromise on the car’s passenger space. Other details, including the fact that the vehicle will be a four-door, double-can pickup, have emerged. It appears it could sit a total of five adults comfortably, feeling “bigger on the inside” than it looks.
Those worried that the larger-than-average vehicle won’t be able to fit in a standard garage can rest easy. Though, the brand still needs to provide information on how powerful the car’s engine will be, how many miles it’ll traverse on a single charge, or how much it can tow at once.
