Apple Changes Twitter’s Name In App Store To ‘X’ Despite Initial Reluctance

Apple’s official renaming of Twitter in the App Store to ‘X’ marks a significant milestone in the company’s recent changes. Over the past week, Twitter (now known as X) has experienced a whirlwind of transformations, from rebranding to even parting ways with its iconic blue bird symbol.
Initially, there were concerns that the App Store couldn’t accommodate such a short name due to its policy requiring a minimum of two letters for any hosted application. However, it appears that owner Elon Musk’s wish was granted, and Apple made an exception for the name change, though the specific details of how it transpired remain undisclosed.
Among the changes are the site’s tagline, which shifted from “Let’s talk” to the intriguing “Blaze Your Glory!”—a message whose exact implications are yet to be clarified. Additionally, Twitter Blue has been renamed to XBlue, where it will now let users upload three-hour-long videos instead of the previous two-hour limit.

Elon Musk’s relentless pursuit of incorporating “X” into every aspect of the company is evident, from placing an X sign on the headquarters’ roof to securing the @X username. According to TechCrunch, the previous owner was compensated with X-themed merchandise and an office tour. Overall, these changes have left many users bewildered as it dismantles the familiar brand they’ve grown accustomed to.
It seems the ultimate objective behind these alterations is to transform Twitter (X) into an all-encompassing “everything app” akin to WeChat in China, facilitating activities ranging from messaging to ride-hailing.
