Looking sharp, Gen Z! This edgy age group is giving up curves for, well, edges on their mobile devices (sorry, Joe Biden). Today, it’s all about iPhone accessories that have 90-degree angles—or “square,” as termed by the brands that make them.
The rise of the square phone case began with influencers and celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Megan Thee Stallion, who have recently been spotted flaunting these geometric, rather retro, tech candies.
But the trend truly took a life of its own after Taylor Swift was seen wielding one of these rectangles on social media.

Beyond the bold visual appeal, a must-have for the individualists in Gen Z, some may argue that there’s a practical perk from this style. As phones grow larger, a good grip from the right angles of these covers would be much appreciated.
