Casio is setting a timely example in protecting the planet with the release of the G5600BG-1 timepiece, a limited-edition model crafted from recycled resin. This eco-conscious offering coincides with both Earth Day on April 22 and the brand’s birthday on April 12.
While retaining the classic G-SHOCK silhouette that’s beloved for its toughness and durability, the new iteration has a bezel and band constructed from recycled resin, a clever solution that gives new life to leftover materials from the watchmaker’s production lines.

These repurposed scraps, a vibrant mix of red, matte black, and yellow, are finely shredded and blended to create a one-of-a-kind, multicolored pattern on each watch.

Further demonstrating an environmentally-friendly design, the G5600BG-1 sports Casio’s Tough Solar technology, allowing it to charge from both sunlight and artificial light to eliminate the need for frequent battery replacements.
Elsewhere, this special piece is built with G-SHOCK’s expected functionality, including shock resistance and 20-bar water resistance, as well as essential features like alarms, stopwatch, and world time. The green theme extends beyond the watch itself, as the G5600BG-1 arrives in packaging constructed from recycled materials.
