The programme has now been announced by the Chairman of Hong Kong Design Centre, Freeman Lau (pictured), who spearheads the annual event, which has become one of the most significant events on the international design calendar.
"Business of Design Week attracts the best of the global design industry," said Freeman Lau, Chairman. "Over 10,000 participants and close to 100 international speakers representing leading designers from Asia, Europe, and North America, will come to Hong Kong this November to share their knowledge and experience in brand, design and innovation."
The main event of the week-long programme, the Business of Design (BOD) Asia international conference (29th November to 1st December), focuses on the importance of robust design industries for economic and cultural growth. Concurrent conferences, exhibitions, outreach programmes in the Hong Kong community and the Award presentations echo this theme and showcase a range of perspectives on the value of design to international audiences and the general public.
"In addition, we'll be paying tributes to companies and individuals from around the world that have generated business success through good design that reflects, or has an impact on, the Asian lifestyle at the Design for Asia Award," said Mr. Lau.
The Chairman revealed that he had just completed the final round of judging of the Design for Asia Award, along with 11 respected figures from the design world, who convened in Hong Kong last week for the adjudication process. The Design for Asia Award winners will be announced during Business of Design Week and presented at HKDC Annual Award Gala Dinner.
