Santa Monica Museum Opens New Wing
Friday, October 13, the Santa Monica Museum of Art in Santa Monica, California will celebrate the completion of Gracie, a new addition designed by architect Allan Wexler, with an evening soiree.

Acting as a multifunctional exhibition, bookshop, storage, and reception area, Gracie is named in honor of SMMoA Board President Laura Donnelley (a.k.a. Gracie) and is an extension of Wexler's April 2006 exhibition "Two Large Wall." With sculptural curves, the addition sweeps through the museum lobby to the parking lot. The focal point of the wing is a semi-transparent safety-orange wall revealing the Museum's administrate functions, programming, and retail products—the latter styled by Gracie's retail curator Amy Coane.

The event kicks off at 7pm; programming begins at 8pm. Museum exhibitions will be open the duration of the evening. The Santa Monica Museum of Art is located at 2525 Michigan Avenue.
