Each designer or design team takes a very different approach to their work, yet all have proven their commitment to design and to exploring materials, processes and themes.
For the last three years Design Mart at the Design Museum has showcased the work of the best of a new generation of product and furniture designers, as part of the Design Museum's commitment to nurturing design talent.
The young designers were chosen to participate in Design Mart and to receive the £50,000 grants by the Design Museum in collaboration with Emily Campbell, Head of Design & Architecture at the British Council.
"We are delighted to be able to support these very talented designers", said Deyan Sudjic, Director of the Design Museum, "they represent a new generation who are exploring design in many ways - practical as well as poetic."
This year's Design Mart exhibition runs at the Design Museum until 7 January 2007.
