New Spaces for The International Independent Magazine Culture Festival CMYK
For second consecutive year Barcelona will welcome CMYK, the only international event that is exclusively dedicated to independent magazine culture. An event which comes back with many novelties, among them, a new prestigious venue, the CCCB (Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona). CMYK will take place on July 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

Cutting edge independent national and international publications will be present during 3 days filled with activities. Once again, guests will include essential names and gurus from the magazine world such as Kimberly Lloyd, director of "M Publication" and Jeremy Leslie author of "New Design of Magazines", and for many, the vademecum of the new magazine design.

The up to date confirmed magazine publishers or editors for this second edition include: Dummy (Germany), +81 (Japan), Bulgariam (Finland), Soda Water (Swiss), DIF (Portugal), UOVO (Italy), Tokion (USA); and regarding national magazines, this year will attend A-Mïnima, B-Guided, Bellamátic, Clone, GO MAG, Killing, NEO2, Ortodóncia, Rock of Lux, [ñ]shots and Visual.

As in the last edition, the activities will not stop once the night comes. Waiting for the programming to be completely configured, we emphasize on the presence of Patrick Wolf, one of the most consistent indie-folk artists of the last times, who will come to perform in our country his excellent second title "Wind In The Wires".

One of the most outstanding novelties of this year edition, is the festivals new location, passing from the "Convent of Sant Agustí" to the CCCB (Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona).
All daily activities will take place at the CCCB, distributed in different areas. A total of seven (two more than the last year) different areas that will welcome the event.

Kiosk. Area in which professionals related with magazine culture can contact a with our national and international guest magazines, to broaden their possibilities of action and work promotion.

Form. First-rate national and international guests dictate conferences and exchange ideas and experiences.

Sofa. Neuralgic centre of the festival. In this sort of hybrid between magazines library and living room, the public has access to more than 300 publications from all over the world (32 countries) to see, touch, read and even buy them.

Out. Open area livened by an exclusive selection of DJ's, designed for leisure and recreation of the general.

RGB Area where the public can see the latest in digital publications. In our 2005 edition Shift Magazine (www.shift.org.jp) is curator of RGB.

Visual. Area for exhibitions by collaborators of guest magazines, artists and special guests.

Workshop. Area for workshops.

CMYK is organized by the Association of Development and Cultural Promotion of Cultural Events CMYK-Mags, that counts on Women Secret as a official collaborator.
