Pod Digital, Inc., a viral marketing and digital entertainment company, has been selected as a winner of a 2006 MITX award for interactive integration within a cross media campaign for its work on the "Crack the Case" campaign for the Crime and Investigation Network at A&E International.
Crack the Case is an innovative and successful integration of the addictive and viral components of online games and reach of broadcast to create a fully-integrated cross-media marketing campaign. Pod Partnered with UK production team, Brothers and Sisters, who produced the on-air portion of the campaign. The entire campaign was centered upon a mystery that unfolded simultaneously over the course of five weeks on-air, online, in banner ads and in prints ads.
"The Crack The Case campaign was a very challenging project creatively, technically and logistically. It required close coordination with a UK based broadcast production team and online teams, in a coordinated weekly episodic launch that held the attention of returning players, and inspired people to join in at any stage of the game" said Steve Curran, Founder and Creative Director of Pod. "To win the MITX award on one of our most ambitious undertakings to date was very gratifying for everybody involved"
The annual MITX Awards is the largest awards competition in the country that recognizes achievements in the development and implementation of interactive technologies. Winners were announced in 25 categories, including five "Best of" awards, at a ceremony attended by more than 800 industry professionals held on November 8th at the Boston Copley Place Marriott.
