Architecture Profession Lauded in Canada Schools
With help from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, Canadian high school students may soon glean a greater understanding of architecture as a career. The organization has launched a new program based on "In Search of a Soul," a DVD highlighting the design process of the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa.

Using core curriculum subjects including art, mathematics, English, media literacy, science, geography, technology, philosophy, and history, the CD walks students through the project from beginning to end, revealing an interactive design process. In addition to promoting architecture as a future path, the Institute hopes to use the program to raise awareness of architecture and its impact on society.

"[The DVD] offers an unparalleled learning experience which exposes students to a variety of subjects and which, we expect, will elicit an emotive response as it relates to students lives and possible career aspirations," says George E. Bemi, chair, regional advisory committee of Ontario North, East & Nunavut for the RAIC College of Fellows.
