BC Fashion Week Announces the Dates for Their Next Season
PRESS RELEASE

Vancouver, January 28, 2007: "The level of economic activity in Vancouver and BC is wonderful to see. However, it has lead to a shortage of the kind of venue that we need to deliver fashion week," stated Debra Walker, Executive Director BC Fashion Week. "We have had increasing levels of success throughout our four seasons and our venue needs are very specific. Through consultation with our partners we have made the decision to not deliver physical shows this spring and focus on refining our new projects for Spring 2008"

The coming months will bring the opportunity to expand on new partnerships with organizations such as Portobello West, launching a New Labels show in collaboration with Fashion High and formalizing reciprocal relationships with other fashion weeks around the world such as Greece, Russia and Colombia. As well as crystallizing these new alliances, BC Fashion Week organizers are looking forward to continuing to work with existing partners such as Industry Canada and Vancouver Economic Development Commission.

"We have many exciting innovations to launch during the next fashion week," continued Walker. "Building on our successes has been most enervating and we are thoroughly excited about the upcoming season. Each of these projects individually is very encouraging. Combining them together goes to illustrate the strength that is emerging with the Western Canadian fashion industry."

One of the innovations BC Fashion Week will be launching for the Fall 2007 season is an online newsletter sharing some of the exciting fashion news coming out of Vancouver. "This vehicle will allow us to present fall/winter 2007 collections to all those interested, which includes the international press and buyers that are eager to stay in touch with the designs coming out of British Columbia," expanded Vladimir Markovich, Executive Creative Director, BC Fashion Week.

Individuals and organizations interested in staying in tune will be able to subscribe to the upcoming newsletters through bcfashionweek.com.
