The DIFC Gulf Art Fair aims to bring the world's leading artists, galleries, and collectors together in Dubai in a celebration of all forms of contemporary visual art.
Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, Ruler of Dubai, and the Chairmanship of the UAE Minister of Culture, His Excellency Abdul Raman Al-Owais, the Board of Patrons will ensure that the Gulf Art Fair serves the best interests of the region and becomes a standard of excellence for the visual arts.
Many of the key commentators in the international art world believe that in the next three years Dubai will become the world's most important art market outside London and New York. An advisory committee will ensure that the art on show is exciting and diverse; that collectors can buy with complete assurance and that the exhibition reflects the many cultures for which Dubai has become such an important hub. Along with leading galleries from Europe, India , America and the Far East there will be the work of the most innovative contemporary artists from throughout North Africa and the Middle East.
The event has the official support of the Dubai Government's Department of
Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) who have identified the Fair as a
priority event for 2007.
