New York, N.Y., - Award-winning film executive Julie Goldstein has joined HBO as senior vice president, HBO Films, announced Colin Callender, president, HBO Films, to whom she will report. She will be responsible for overseeing the development and production of the HBO Films slate for theatrical release. These titles will be distributed through Picturehouse, the HBO and New Line Cinema jointly created theatrical distribution company.

Goldstein will remain in New York where she will serve to enhance HBO Films east coast presence. The location also keeps her in the same city as the headquarters of film distributor Picturehouse.
Spending most of her film career at Miramax Films, Goldstein has an extensive credit list of acclaimed and honored films, including among others Golden Globe-nominee Proof, Academy Award®-winner Finding Neverland, Best Picture Academy Award®-winner Chicago, Academy Award®-nominee Dirty Pretty Things, Golden Globe and Academy Award®-nominee Bridget Jones' Diary, Golden Globe-nominee An Ideal Husband, Best Picture Academy Award®-winner Shakespeare in Love, Golden Globe-nominee The Mighty and Academy Award®-nominee Emma.
Goldstein's additional films include Shall We Dance, The Four Feathers, The Importance of Being Earnest, Ella Enchanted, Serendipity, Birthday Girl, About Adam, Holy Smoke, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Mansfield Park and B. Money.
She is the recipient of two Screen Actor's Guild Honor Awards for Chicago and Shakespeare in Love, a Golden Laurel Award from the Producer's Guild of America for Chicago and a Humanitas Prize for Dirty Pretty Things.
For the past two years, Goldstein has worked as an independent producer and consultant, most recently on the HBO and BBC co-production Longford, with Jim Broadbent and Samantha Morton, premiering in February on HBO; and Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel with Anna Faris, which just wrapped production in the United Kingdom.
She is a member of the Producers Guild of America East and the British Academy of Film and Television.
