Each year, the Makor/Steinhardt Center, a branch of the 92nd Street Y devoted primarily to Jewish culture, chooses several artists-in-residence as part of a program that encourages artists who use a cultural vocabulary of contemporary Jewish experience and other cross-cultural references. Recent alumnus Keren Moscovitch (MFA 2005 Photography, Video and Related Media) is part of this year's slate of artists-in-residence and will have work on view in the annual "Ten by Ten" show.
Moscovitch is presenting a new body of work entitled Episodic Memorial, in which she explores the psychological space of children who experience the trauma of war and the displacement and loss of innocence that accompanies it. "Ten by Ten" will be on view at the Makor Gallery, 35 West 67th Street, through Sunday, April 8; winter gallery hours: Thursday, 2 - 6pm; Friday, 10am - 4pm; Sunday, 2 - 4pm.
