The Singapore Fashion Festival 2007 Starts Today!
Singapore, Friday March 23 2007 - The region's most glamorous fashion event, The Singapore Fashion Festival, presented by MasterCard and made possible by the Singapore Tourism Board, commences tonight and runs till 1 April 2007.
With over 100 local and international designer labels hitting the catwalk, the Festival has lined up a range of premium designer collections, from Vivienne Tam, Matthew Williamson and MARC by Marc Jacobs, as well as local talents behind such home-grown labels as Baylene and alldressedup. It all adds up to an engaging 10-day schedule that just oozes style!
Highlights
To mark the opening of its freestanding store in Ngee Ann City in mid April, Marc by Marc Jacobs is celebrating with a show. Jacobs is one of the most influential designers in the world as both Creative Director of Louis Vuitton
and his own lines.
After making his mark in Europe on the official Paris men's calendar, local designer Jonathan Seow from Woods & Woods will present a capsule collection on his home turf .
Matthew Williamson will close the Festival with a full-scale runway presentation for his Spring/Summer 2007 collection, which will be his first presentation in Asia.
Style headquarters will again be in located in the purpose-built, state-of-the-art The Tent on Singapore's famous shopping street - Orchard Road. Adding to the event's global appeal, a ground-level catwalk complemented by raised seating will take the Festival to a whole new creative level.
