MARCH 2007 FALMOUTH INSPIRATIONS Solo Exhibition by LIM Poh Lai.
Practicing artist Lim Poh Lai presents Falmouth Inspirations as his fifth solo exhibition. This exhibition comprises three groups of works: Street Scenes, Hand Expressions, and Nude in Interior and Exterior.
Inspired by a town in Cornwall in England, Falmouth, Poh Lai began to paint the essence of the town and the deep impressions it left on him. He then moved on to the expressions of hands to conjure the notion of love between couples, and the community. Nude in Interior and Exterior is a study of the human figure and its interaction with the architectural space.
Lim Poh Lai has been a recipient of National Arts Council's Art Bursaries and Lee Foundation Bursary for 2005. He holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts from University College Falmouth, in Cornwall, UK. Falmouth Inspirations is sponsored by the Lee Foundation, Mr. James How, and supported by The Society of Chinese Artists.
