The Prints of Sean Scully at SAAM
ART EXHIBITION
May 18 through Oct. 8, 2007
Sean Scully (b. 1945) is an internationally acclaimed artist who has been a key abstract painter over the past two decades. "The Prints of Sean Scully" will explore recurring themes in Scully's work.
The exhibition presents the artist's generous gift in 2001 of a master set of his prints to the Smithsonian American Art Museum, which is the only complete set in an American museum. Joann Moser, senior curator for graphic arts, selected the 50 prints, portfolios and artists' books featured.
