In the spirit of its corporate philosophy of kyosei and its continued commitment to a sustainable environment, Canon U.S.A, Inc., hosted a number of Earth Day activities at its Long Island, N.Y., headquarters on Monday, April 30th.
The Canon Earth Day celebration featured Eyes on Yellowstone - an educational and research program, sponsored by Canon U.S.A., PBS NATURE series (supported by Canon U.S.A. since 1990); the Canon National Parks Science Scholars Program (the only program that encourages doctoral students to conduct innovative research on scientific problems critical to national parks); and Canon Envirothon (North America's largest high school environmental education competition).
Organizations that will join Canon U.S.A. management and employees for Earth Day at the Company's headquarters include the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center in Oyster Bay, N.Y.; Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium in Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.; The New York Botanical Garden, Bronx, N.Y.; and the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), based in Washington, D.C.
