"Cool Globes" Hot Ideas for a Cool Planet" is the brainchild of environmental activist Wendy Abrams. Artists from around the world including Jim Dine, Yair Engel, Tom Van Sant and Juame Plensa designed the five-foot globes to create awareness and provoke discussion about a potential solution to global warming. The grand opening celebration to officially unveil the globes is June 1 in Chicago. Together with the art exhibit, Cool Globes' special events and education initiatives, will issue a call to action to encourage individual and organizational changes in day-to-day lifestyles and business operations to reduce adverse environmental impact.
"Climate change is a major concern for Mohawk. Our goal is to help increase awareness of the issues and stimulate action for change whether at home or at work. Mohawk's initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have made it a leader in the paper industry. Last week, Mohawk announced select premium product lines, including Strathmore, are now made carbon neutral within its production and distribution process.
