Following a yearlong battle with leukemia, MFA Design Department faculty member Eva Doman Bruck passed away recently. Over the course of a distinguished career, Bruck put her design skills to work at Time Warner Cable, the International Design Conference in Aspen, Milton Glaser, Inc., Landor Associates and Hearst Interactive Studios. She published articles in Communication Arts, HOW and AIGA Journal, and was co-author, with Tad Crawford, of a series of books about business and legal forms for designers, all published by Allworth Press.
"Eva was a major asset to our MFA program as a teacher, advisor and consultant," says Steven Heller, a co-chair of the department. "We will miss her wisdom, devotion and, of course, her warmth." The MFA Design program has established a scholarship in Bruck's memory; recent alumnus Lara McCormick (MFA 2007 Design) is the inaugural recipient.
