On view from June 7-11, 2007
The world famous BMW Art Cars, featuring cars painted by the late Andy Warhol and Australian artist Ken Done, will be on display in the Foundation Hall at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Circular Quay, Sydney as part of a world tour.
Sydney will be the only city in Australia to showcase this exhibition featuring four cars from the BMW Art Car Collection, including those painted by American minimalist painter and sculptor, Frank Stella and the late American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.
Australia has not seen an exhibition of this kind for more than 17 years when the BMW Art Cars were first shown in Sydney in 1989.
At the conclusion of the exhibition in Sydney, the cars will move to New Zealand and India, before returning to Europe. During the current tour, which began in Malaysia last year, the four cars have been exhibited in Singapore, the Philippines and Korea.
The Sydney exhibition runs from June 7 - 11 and will be open from 10:00am until 5:00pm each day. Admission is free.
