Join the Casey Eye Institute for The Eye of the Artist, presented by James G. Ravin, M.D. at the Portland Art Museum. Learn how eye disease affected some of the great Impressionists, including Cassatt, Monet, and Pissarro. Dr. Ravin is the clinical associate professor at the Medical College of Ohio, surgical director of the Eye Center of Toledo, and co-author of The Eye of the Artist.
An art history major at the University of Michigan, Dr. Ravin has studied the effect of illness on artists since he attended the University of Michigan Medical School. His investigations have been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, and have been featured on CNN, the Today Show, and other national media.
