It’s a blue online world out there, according to this nifty infographic by COLOURlovers. Most logos of online sites are in blue shades, with red icons falling just behind.
Facebook, Twitter, Skype, LinkedIn, PayPal…the list of websites slathered in blue goes on. And is it a coincidence that all social networks use that same color?
In a blog post, COLOURlovers wrote that Facebook chose blue because it was the only color its founder Mark Zuckerberg could see.
And in the red camp, there’s CNN, YouTube, CNET, Ask and Adobe, for example. But it looks like the top two web brands, Google and Microsoft, prefer multicolored logos.
Monochrome designs, it seems, have no place on the net—Wikipedia and Apple are the only big websites that prefer the stark palette.
